My customer has the following question:  

I was looking at using a SERDES redriver DS100BR210SQE/NOPB when I noticed that the datasheet shows a -40C storage temperature. Are there any extended storage temperature options for this device? I need to be able to go down to -54C storage.

 

If not, would you have any recommendations for other SERDES repeater? I would be looking for a device with 1 or 2 repeaters that can do speeds of at least 3Gbps and am looking to for it to be able to do input equalization and output de-emphasis. This would be going on my backplane to redrive the SERDES signal. I do not need the I2C interface.

 

I am thinking the LMH12xx family could suffice if we don't have the Tstg rating.

    Hi Aaron,

    To clarify, are they looking for redrivers with 2 channels or less? The DS100BR410, which has 4 channels, has a storage temperature of -65°C to +150°C.

    I am looking for a redriver with 2 channels or less that can redrive a range of 2Gbps to 5.5Gbps. I also need it to be able run from a 3.3VDC supply. I noticed that DS100BR410 requires a 2.5VDC supply. DS100BR210 had everything that I needed but the lower storage temperature. The DS100BR210 and DS100BR410 seem to be very similar parts but 2 channel vs 4 channel. Is there a reason that the DS100BR410 can go down to -65C but DS100BR210 can't? Is there any opportunity to update DS100BR210 to be able to have a storage of -55C or colder?

    I will check with our test team to see if any such devices have this specification. I will also check why the DS100BR410 has different storage temperature parameters than the DS100BR210 and will get back to you.

    Hi Zach,

    We do not have currently such a 2 channel redriver in our catalog. The DS100BR210 could potentially function with this lower storage temperature, but we can only guarantee device operation when following the defined range of -40 C to +125 C in the data sheet.
