There are two 8-bit ports in TCA9539. While all other features (PU/PD, Input/Output, etc.) have dedicated bits for each and every of those 16 GPIO lines, the OD is controlled by a single 4F register with 2 lower bits shown as ODEN1/ODEN0. It is totally unclear how can one set each of those 16 GPIOs to OD _INDIVIDUALLY_ , what those 6 upper bits apply to, and how to get the OD configuration status for each and every GPIO lines. There is only one RW 8-bit register for OD configuration. It is absolute mystery how to control and query the OD configuration for 16 GPIO lines with a single 8-bit configuration port.
