TUSB2077A: HOW TO HANDLE UNUSED PIN

When  no EEPROM, EXTMEM  pin is high, EEDATA/GANGED selects between EEDATA/ ganged or per-port power overcurrent detection for the downstream ports. So pin 8 is either high or  low.

I didnt ask what the function of the pin is - the data sheet is clear on that. I don't require any of the functions on pin 8. Does it have to be tied either high or low even when not in use?

I know what the function of pin 8 is. However, I don't need either of its functions. Is there a requirement that it be tied high or low even if not in use?

Power switch is always enabled in TUSB2077, either  ganged or per-port power no mater you use the function or not.

You can either pull high or low  just don't floating this pin.

By the way, how are you going to control Vbus for downstream ports?

Downstream ports are self-powered and don't need to source power from the cable.
