DP83TG720S-Q1: DP83TG720SWRHATQ1 cannot pass ping test

Hello,

The customer is using the DP83TG720SWRHATQ1 component. At the beginning of the test, the network was not recognized and the light did not turn on. After setting the core board (which communicates with the chip) to master mode, the customer can recognize the network port and the network port light is on, but it cannot pass the Ping test. The schematic diagram is shown in the attachment. Please help analyze the cause. Thanks.

When the customer configures the PHY, are they following the master mode configuration detailed in the DP83TG720S-Q1 Open Alliance application note?

Are you referring to LED_0 here?

In the case where link is up, but customer is unable to ping, is it possible to read back registers 0x639-0x63E? These are packet and error counter registers and can help us identify where the issue might be.

Hi Jeno,

Yes, there is a strap for master mode.

Note that the master mode configuration involves configuration that is not handled by the strap configuration. We recommend writing the Open Alliance configuration to the PHY.
