Hi team,

I am planning to use TXE8116 and would like to input a signal from a photocoupler.

My understanding is that a photocoupler is a relatively slow device in terms of signal transition speed.
In this case, is it acceptable to directly connect the output of the photocoupler to the TXE8116 input?

Specifically, I would like to confirm the following:

Can TXE8116 correctly recognize slow rise and fall times from devices such as photocouplers?
Are there any concerns or limitations when directly interfacing a slow device like a photocoupler?

Hello Shota,

When I/Os in TXE8116 are configured as inputs, they follow the same rules as CMOS inputs. Meaning they will be impacted by slow or floating inputs. See this FAQ for more details: How does a slow or floating input affect a CMOS device?

We don't have a parameter for I/O input transition rates for this part. However, I would try keeping input rates to <10ns/V.
