DS90CR285: Can be used for Camera Link?

Hello,

My customer consider to use DS90CR285 for Camera Link.
Their requirements are as follows.
  - Transmission speed: 420MB/s
  - Configuration: Medium
  - PoCL support: Not required

- Connection distance: About a few meters
Does DS90CR285 meet their requirements?

    Hi K,

    I don't believe the DS90CR285 would meet the customer's needs here. The input is a TTL signal, so a traditional RGB signal that gets converted to an LVDS signal. I'm not sure what format the data coming out of the camera would be in, but I don't believe it would be RGB.

    Additionally, the DS90CR285 has a maximum bandwidth of 1.848Gbps, or ~230MBps which does not meet the 420MBps requirement. 

    Can you confirm what protocol the camera's output supports and where they are trying to send the data (display, SoC, etc.)? I can try to find another solution for you.
