I am wondering if the this PD controller's fw can be download via I2C2 without EEPROM? If so, how does it work? From F411_04_01_0005_ReleaseFiles, I did not find these information.

Thanks for your response. Please help review the system-level requirements below and share your valuable input
1. Mini 45W PD soure via USBC
2. USB3/2: Use PD GPIO to control HD3SS3411TRWARQ1 for USB3 MUX. If the SOC cannot use USB3, downgrade to USB2 DP/DM. If default fw can support this requirement?
3. As low cost as possible, eliminate EEPROM if possible.

Hi Han,
TPS25762 can work without the EEPROM based on an OTP setting. There are some bandwidth to set the config but not as flexible as having an EEPROM or MCU in the system.
The GPIO based HUB control function may not be supported without EEPROM. Can you talk about more details so I can check if it can be supported?

Hi Ke,
There is an MCU (Infineon TC397) on the board that connects PD controller I2C2. I attached the schematic for your reference. For GPIO based hub control function (CC controller like the schemtic attached), could you help check if EEPROM is a must? I noticed that there is ROM and RAM inside PD controller and PD controller supports USB endpoint firmware updates. Does it mean the fw can be updated inside the pd controller using fw update mode so that EEPROM is not needed? PD review.pdf

Checked and in this case a EEPROM is needed.

No it's only for OTP program. Any fw update requires the EEPROM in the system.
