TLK10002 MDIO No Response

Hi,

The MDIO port of TLK10002 does not response when i send reading command to it. Attached please find out the waveforms at the input pins of mdc and mdio as well as the schematic of the TLK10002 design. mdc is 2.5MHz, port address is "00000H", register address is 06H. I have checked all voltage supply pins. They are all correct to the design values.

    I also tried all possible port addresses from 0x0 to 0x1f. The results are the same, FFFFH.

    It is really urgent! Any one who can help?

    Hi Yaoting,

    From your schematic, it looks like your port address pins are all tied to ground, so you should be using a port address of 0x0. You mentioned in a recent post that you have two boards and you are able to communicate with one board but not the 2nd one. Are both boards communicating with the same FPGA? Is there any difference between the two boards?

    A couple of things to check: Make sure that R147 is installed (2k pullup resister on MDIO signal) and that the RESET_N pin is getting the correct voltage level from the FPGA. Also, make sure that the protocol matches the description on page 28 of the datasheet.

    Really thankful for your response.

    All your mentioned points i checked. Two boards are identical. I even suspected the TLK10002 was a bad one. I changed it. Unfortunately it was not the key point. Still does not work.
