Hi,

I have a question regarding SN65LVDS100 from customer.

Customer would like to use SN65LVDS100 as buffer for MIPI HS signal to FPGA.

And they asked if SN65LVDS100 can receive the MIPI HS data .

According to the general information of MIPI HS as below I guess SN65LVDS100 can support that as Rx .

bit rate : 80Mpbs to 1.5Gbps

Tx singal level : 140mV swing ( Vcm=150mV) to 270mV( swing Vcm=250mV)

Would it be possible for you to tell us if the above understanding is correct ?

And if there is the other information that I have to confirm , please let us know.

Hi Charlie,

The SN65LVDS100 has a common mode out put that ranges from 1.125-1.375V. So you cannot directly couple (DC) its outputs to your MIPI receiver if the common mode voltages you described above are what is required. You will need to AC couple the SN65LVDS100 outputs and reassert the desired common mode after the ac coupling caps. Thank you very much for the quick response.
The customer would like to use SN65LVDS10 as Rx buffer against MIPI HS data to FPGA. ( please see the attachment )
So the next device of SN65LVDS10 is FPGA , not MIPI HS receiver.
Would it be possible for you to answer afresh with this updated information ?

Hi,

I think this will help you. You mean the pins of FPGA are set in LVDS input mode? OK, this part can output LVDS and can accept the MIPI HS output. the common mode voltage can be as low as 50mV.
