TL16C554AI issue

Hi All

Customer reported an issue of TL16C554AI. Configurated the registers after powered-up and the the chip was ready. Then transimitted the data by the serial port of PC. TL16C554AI could received the data, the interupt signals were ok and MCU can correctly read the data. But when transmitted the received data back to the serial port of PC, PC did not receiver the data. No any singal could be found at the tx pin of TL16C554AI when applied the probe of OSC in this pin.

The transmission mode was FIFO and enabled the interupt and no FIFO blank interupt signa was sent out .

(*(uint8 *)(TL16C554_CHA_addr + RegIER)) = 0x03;

(*(uint8 *)(TL16C554_CHA_addr + RegMCR)) = 0x08;

Hi Ted,

They can not transmit because they have Break Control bit (LCR6) set. Tell them that they must clear this bit to restore to normal transmission mode (LCR=43 --> LCR=03).
