TLK105L: The difference between TLK105L and TLK105

Hi Team,

I understood both TLK105L and TLK105 support EtherCAT from following E2E thread.

I would like to know the differences between TLK105L and TLK105.

Hi Yaita,

The TLK105L supports IEEE 1588 SFD (Start-frame Detection). The TLK105 does not have this.

For all new projects though, we highly recommend the DP83822I (or DP83822IF, DP83822H, DP83822HF) and not the TLK105/TLK105L.
All the DP83822s support EtherCAT.

Could you tell me why TI recommends DP83822s instead of TLK105/TLK105L for new project?

If my customer design with TLK105/TLK105L, what is concern about?

Hi Yaita,

The DP83822 is a new product and has additional feature set.

It also is easier to design-in and layout the DP83822I for passing UNH than the TLK105 and TLK105L.
