TCA9543A: TCA9543A: Is level shifting from an 3V3 Master-I²C-Bus to an 5V-Slave-I²C-Bus also possible ?

Part Number: TCA9543A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: P82B715

Hello,

we are looking for an I²C-Switch which can also do the level shifting for us. In the datasheet is mentioned, that the TCA9543A can shift the level from 3,3V master bus to a lower voltage slave bus (for example 1,8V). After study of the datasheet of the TCA9543A we are not sure if the slave i²c-bus could be 5V, while the master i²c-bus will runs at 3,3V level.
The TCA9543 will have a supply voltage (Vcc) of 3,3V and the pull-up-resistors at the i²c-bus will pull-up against 3,3V-Vcc at the master side and against 5V-Vcc at the slave-side. Each slave-side of the TCA9543 is connected to a P82B715 as an i²c-bus extender.
Does such a desgin will works ?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Oliver Brunenberg
