DS90UB953-Q1: DS90UB953-Q1 FPD Link III is compatible with DS90UB934-Q1 FPD Link III input?

Hi,

We are using DS90UB953-Q1 and DS90UB960-Q1 in our S-CAM 4.8 and other projects. We would like to know whether 953 FPD link III output is compatible with 934 FPD Link III input.

953 is MIPI to FPD Link III and 934 is parallel to FPD Link III.

Our interface module has 953 and data logger has 934 part. so please confirm 934 deserializer is compatible with 953 serializer in terms of data rate and protocol settings.

    The 953 serializer can work with the previous generation parallel output type deserializer such as 934 in the backwards compatible DVP mode. We have an application note available under the 953 documentation on TI website that covers this topic in details: www.ti.com/.../snla270.pdf

    Thanks for the clarification.

    The datasheet which is available in TI site does not mention about DVP with External CLKIN, it shows MODE_SEL(Address 0x03)
    000: CSI-2 Synchronous Mode
    001: CSI-2 with CSI-2 clock Mode
    010: CSI-2 non-synchronous mode external clock

    Could you please share the latest datasheet which reflects Address 0x03 : 101 DVP external clock backwards compatible mode.

    Do you have any 953 script configuration file to configure the 953 serializer which will be compatible with 934 Deserilizer input.

    Hello,
    The latest 953 datasheet is what we have now available online on TI.com. There is no other updated version available currently. When the next 953 datasheet version is ready with any updates it will be released on the web.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response.

    Available datasheet does not mention about 953 will support DVP mode by enabling 0x045 on register 0x02. so we just need to ensure that 953 will support backward compatible with 934 FPD link III  before we share with our client.

    if any ALP python script is available to configure the 953 CSI2/MIPI to 934 FPD Link III, please do share the same.

    Yes as I mentioned it works with the 934 in the backwards compatible mode, and please use the app note I referenced for the details and how to configure for this mode.
    There are no scripts available currently to share, but please consult with your FAE if there is a need.
