TUSB8044: TUSB8044 not connecting to windows.

Part Number: TUSB8044

Hello all,

I made a design with TUSB8044 part as a usb hub in our project.  The problem I'm having is that the part isn't recognized by windows when i plug it in.  All the USB ports are always connected to the chips.

I have attached the Schematic of the hub.

Pls let me know if I need to make any changes/ upload firmware  to make the hub connected to Windows.

Thanks.

  • Hello Hezi,

Can you provide a block diagram for the schematic? It looks like the upstream port of the hub is routed to a standard type B receptacle, both sides of a type C receptacle and a type C switch...that does not seem correct.

    Thanks,
    JMMN
  • Hi JMMN,

Attached block diagram of the project.

We connected the upstream port of the HUB to the standard type B receptacle with 0 ohm resistors and we use it just for system debug - it's not connected for all options together.

About the , both sides of a type C receptacle and a type C switch - can you advice that is the right and correct connection it should be ?

May be it's the problem that cause the hub not connecting to windows ?

  • Hezi,

In the board schematic I suggest that you remove R35.x, R36.x, R37.x, (x = [1 - 4]). It seems these resistor are connecting the upstream port on the hub to multiple ports (Type-B and Type-C). Try using the Mux (U9) and always connect to a single port at a time.
