I'm starting to design in two tusb2036 part in a tiered usb hub design. The problem I'm having is that the part isn't recognized by windows when i plug it in. All the USB ports are always connected to the chips. I have attached the Schematic to help you.

Hi Jeremy,

The PWRON#/ and SUSPND outputs can be left unconnected.

Try using 15k Ohm resistor for RESET terminal of second hub, doing this the second hub will start enumerating when the first is enumerated. Also connect the hub to a different USB host and try to update the generic driver for hub. Download the usbview (7266.usbview.zip) utility to get more information about the hub and device. Select the item in the left window will allow its descriptors to be read in the right window. Could you attach some screen captures?

Joel,

I changed the reset resistor on the second hub to a 20K (it was all i had), and removed the resistors on the pwron and suspnd pins (they are now not connected like you suggested). Here is the capture file from usb view of what the pc is seeing.

joel,

I flipped the usb pins on the cable I made to try that, and then everything powered up normally I think. Here is the new usb view screens. Let me know if this looks normal?
