It looks like the TUSB214 can go to 5m.
What is the different of pre-channel and post-channel?

My customer's application is show in following fig.

Is it possible?

The pre-channel path is the path the signal takes from the Host to the TUSB214. The post-Channel path is the path the signal takes from the TUSB214 to the device. Yes, the TUSB214 would work in that application.

If my customer don't want I2C control, how does REQ be set?

Req is set with a pull down resistor to the EQ setting that you need. Below is the table for resistor values.

and the table below is the table for which EQ setting to use.
