Need to follow up:
When driving the XI pin with a 1.8V oscillator will placing a 1k series resistor very close to the XI pin cause a problem (i.e. while powered does the XI pin present a high impedance to the driver)?
While supplies are powering down we are unable to guarantee under all conditions that the Oscillator will always be off before the DP83867 supplies are off therefore as a fail-safe we’re considering adding a 1k series resistor at the XI pin.
If the series 1K resistor is problematic then if we were to power our oscillator with 3.3V and add the capacitor divider per fig. 31 on pg 111 of the data-sheet, would the dc blocking of the capacitor divider be an effective fail-safe alternative to the 1k series resistor?
