DP83640: Issues with communication signal

Dear team,

my customer sees the following issue - can you assist, please?

The DP83640 Precision PHYTER chip receives the signal from FPGA  on the same board. The signal is routed to pins RD+ and RD- on the PHYTER chip.

Because of a long line effect these inputs are seeing an overshoot as depicted below.

In spite of looking through the spec I could not find an answer if these overshoots can be tolerated by the PHYTER.

I’m asking this question, because under normal circumstances these inputs are connected to a transformer where the ringing at the transition points might be normal.

Would you please comment on this issue?

Thank you!
