Hi,

I have a question regarding the bandwidth and filtering of the EVM and transceiver chip. I was wondering if the IC has a limited bandwidth or the EVM has any filtering on the board. I have a SGMII LVDS signal combined with a 2.5 GHz 180 mVpp sin wave. I was wondering what would happen if this signal goes straight to the EVM or IC without filtering the sin wave.

    Hi Shaun,

    There is only 0.1uF DC blocking caps on the SGMII lines.
    No additional filtering is on the board. I am not certain how the response will be for this.
    However, you could try adding an LPF with a cutoff beyond 625MHz to keep the SGMII LVDS signaling and attenuate that 2.5GHz sine wave.
