TPS65983: TPS65983B for TR DD application

Part Number: TPS65983

Hi,

Our customer use TPS65983B in Tumberbolt application which used TR DD+TPS65983.

Use configuration tool setting Tapex Creek as attached file.

1.Device 1 :PDO1/PDO2/PDO3 and PDO4(Max85W)

2.Device2:PDO1(15W)

And Intel provide the GPIO setting as below:

GPIO0: TPS65983_PA/PB_9V output

GPIO1: TPS65983_PA/PB_15V output

GPIO2: TPS65983_PA/PB_HV_EN àoutput (when Battery charging and Host in Sx, need to set to high)

GPIO3: ATX_PWR_OK input

GPIO5: TPS65983_PA/PB_20V output

GPIO6: PM_LC_ENàinput (TR LC power state)

GPIO7: PM_S3_ENàinput (TR PM_S3 state)

GPIO8: EC_I2C_IRQ2Z

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can we make sure the the Creek configure setting which same as Intel GPIO setting?
Warm Regards,
Lin
TPS65983B Configuration for Tapex Creek.docx
  • Hi Lin,
    The project files in the GUI tool for TPS65983 and TPS65983B are specifically made to work with the Intel TBT Device reference designs. No changes would be needed if you are following the reference design. We do not support adjusting these configurations for use outside of the TBT Device reference designs from Intel.
    If this answers your question, PLEASE select This resolved my issue
    Thank you,
  • Hi Eric
    That due to we use ATX_PSU for our TBT3 device design.
    INTEL PAE told me , for ATX_PSU solution the TPS65983B's GPIO definition are difference with Tapex Creek EV-board.
    The new TPS65983's GPIO are related ATX_PSU control signal, ACPI State (TR DD state).
    When host in S3/S4/S5 state and have battery charging requirement , TPS65983's should control ATX_PSU turn-on through PA/PB_HV_EN.
    Could you please help to check this issue and let us know?
    Thanks.
  • Hi Eric
        Please see attached file for INTEL ATX PSU diagram.
        Like as previous statement  the TPS65983B's GPIO pins definition are difference between Tapex Creek and ATX_PSU solution.
        We need your help to build TPS65983B specific FW for our application.
           Thanks.
  • Hi Jeff,
    Can you share the Intel Document number for the full schematic of this design?
    Thank you,
    Eric
  • Hi Eric
    INTEL PAE only provide this diagram for me.
    No document and full schematic for Tapex Creek ATX solution.
    Only can find Apex Creek ATX document (#570406) on INTEL IBL.
    Thanks.
  • Hi Jeff,
    We currently do not have a template that supports the Tapex Creek ATX design.
    Thank you,
    Eric
