TCAN1043-Q1: Question about EN and INH shorted response

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Hi team,

I got further question from the customer about pin assignment policy of TCAN1043.

In automotive market, adjacent pin short becomes concerns in some OEMs.

The customer asks question to all suppliers why this pin assignment was adopted though adjacent pin short causes fatal error.

I suppose regarding to TCAN1043 there was de facto standard package, is there any other reason for that?

Best regards,

  • Fujihara-san,

In order to remain competitive, it's important that TI's transceivers are pin-to-pin compatible with other devices on the market. This allows for seamless analog replacement in systems where the PCB has already been laid out. So you are right, the standard industry package is what drove the choice.

    Regards,
