Linux/DS90UB948-Q1: DS90UB921 pair DS90UB948 I2S channel

hi friend,

now we are debuging ds90ub947 as serialize and ds90ub948 asdeserilize on Analog LaunchPAD,and we want to output pwm signal from ds90ub948 through i2s channel ,

so we first confirm i2s signal from ds90ub947 to ds90ub948,

on ds90ub947 we connect i2s_clk ,i2s data,i2s_clk,i2s_wc to codec es8323 , but not output on ds90ub948 .

If this solution can not work , does any other way to get a pwm signal output to DS948 ?

what can i do to modify registers?

You can take PWM signal as general purpose signal, and use GPIO pins of UB947/948. All the PWM's specs should catch UB947/948's GPIO spec.

Now we use serialize DS947 and deserialize DS948 to output pwm singal through i2s ,because after successed we will use serialize DS921 and deserialize DS948 to output pwm through i2s. DS921 gpio is not enough ,so only just through i2s.
plese give some suggestion and help to config registers and so on.

TI provides two features on the reused pins of I2S and GPIO. If you need transmit the PWM through these reused I2S/GPIO pin, you should consider the I2S function description for such application. for example, the I2S_CLK is required to be 1MHz ~10MHz, and the I2S_Data can be used to transmit the PWM signals.

I2S_CLK is conected to 3M clock output, I2S_DA is used to transmit the pwm signal.
we configure 0x20 and 0x21 to 0x00(I guess function is i2s mode ). and 0x22 to 0x89, thus other register to default .
But it doesn't work ,not output signal from i2s_clk and i2s_da.

Hi, UB921 has no reg. setting on I2S. you can check reg. 0x12 on I2S setting mode (island transport or FC frame transport)?

It doesn't work on serialize ds90ub947 according to the way(we don't test on ub921,because we have not yet buy the board). And we have not yet debug video output,is it ok to transmit i2s signal ? I mean that when video output is ok ,the i2s signal either is tranmit to remote ds90ub948.

Yes, in default setting, I2S signal can be transmitted from UB947 to UB948.
