DP83822I: Crystal Spec Requirement for Aging

Hi,

Can anyone please let me know what is the drive strength requirement for the crystal that can be used with DP83822? Can we use the 1-100uW surface mount small crystals?

Hi Santhosh,

We have found that very low drive levels, like 10uW can show jitter problems.

It is recommended to operate crystals with the DP83822 at 100uW or higher.

Hi Santhosh,

That crystal is OK. I would recommend specifying a load capacitance, CL, of 15pF or greater for use with the DP83822.
