Is there special register to determine what serializer is used in camera module? I would like to differentiate between 953 913 and 933 chips.

Also can 913 work with 954? What special programming needed?

Hello,
The 954 can work with 913A in the backwards compatible mode (RAW modes). For CSI-2 the 954 needs to be paired up with 953 (or 935).
Please refer to the 954 datasheet for information on interfacing with 913A.

For register 0x6D, I program value to 0x7F. Supposedly this will override strap to Raw10 Coax. How do I know if should be Raw 12 or 10?
Output of 954 can be CSI?

What else need to check?

1. mode-sel can configure the raw10 or raw12 mode in UB954 side, you also can use reg. to override this strap setting.
2. for csi2 data, if you use yuv422_8_8 input in the UB933 side, you should set reg. 0x70 and 0x7c in UB954 d/s. the data type should be set as YUV422_8_8 (it is 0x1e).

1. program 0x6D = 0x7F on 954

2. so I have 913 to 954, I program 0x7C = 0x80 & 0x70 = 0x1E (CSI_YUV422_8_8) on 954.

Is that correct?

yes, it could be. this setting is dependent on your camera side UB913A's pin connection. if not well, you can have fine tune for it.
besides, please design UB954's PoC same as UB913a's PoC design and select the correct back channel rate (backwards compatible with UB913a)
