in my design i have a SERDES (954) on the host board and a 953 on the daughter board

the 953 also manages the daughter board since there is no CPU,

my question is how do you RST the 953 during a scenario that the board is stuck,

how do you reset the communication device when something is wrong in the communication

i would love to get some ideas

Hi Tzachi
The key point in your application is to make sure UB953 can be accessed by ub954. If it can be controlled, you can leverage the remote GPIOs to control the ub953's daughter card.

Hi Steven,
this is implemented as you say, but at a planning perspective - lets assume i lose communication with the 954, how can i reset the 953?
i will not have physical proximity to use a push button,
the question is there a fail safe

Hi,
it is very challenging for UB954/953, generally you need one MCU in the UB953 side to detect and control it.
