Hello,

We want to use this interface in a tester to test the unit which has LIN interface.

In our board, we are planning to interface this IC via UART to the Banana Pro board which runs on Linux.

Please let me know, is it require to develop driver for this interface/ can we use UART driver?

Mohana,

A UART driver will work if the LIN protocol is written into the processor. UART is fully capable of correctly driving the right signals at the right frequency for LIN.

Mohana,

I'm not sure if there is anything available external to TI for LIN protocol starting code for Banana Pro, I'd have to search around. If you click my username to find my email, you can email me separate from this thread. I can send over what we have available for some of our processors.
