We think that it depends on input capacitance.
Exceptt for input capacitance, what is effective for waveform distortion?

What is the signal line this is on? How fast is the data rate?

you are correct that the capacitance can distort the signal but also the device is a 5V device so if the signal swings higher than 5V, the device can start conducting current and distort the signal as well.

You can change the device to a lower capacitance but I do not believe the capacitance is the issue. Is it +/- voltage? This is a unidirectional device that cannot support negative voltages.
