Linux/SN65DSI86: Circuit & spec question

Part Number: SN65DSI86

Tool/software: Linux

Hi Team,

I have some question need to confirm as below items :

 1. Does the HPD pin directly connect to 3.3V with 51k ohm?

 2. Need to reserve 1 GPIO pin for cable detect?

 3. How to switch the output of DSI 1 and DSI 2? We only need to output one way at a time.

 4. What is the spec of reference clock if we use 27 MHz oscillator?

Best regards

    1. HPD implementation depends on system requirement, please refer to section 8.4.5.1 . If not used, you can tie it to 3.3V through 51k ohm resistor.
    2. Which cable detect are you referring to?
    3. You can write to register 0x10h bit[6:5] to switch between dual-channel or single channel DSI
    4. Please refer to section 7.7 Switching Characteristic, REFCLK section.

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

    2. We originally used Analogix's ANX7625 & it has a cable detect pin. Does SN65DSI86 need it?

    4. Does this IC have a frequency deviation specification of high & low temperature? (ppm)

We used ABM8-27.000MHZ-10-1-U-T on our EVM and it has +/-10ppm per its spec.

I can't find the ANX7625 datasheet to look at cable detect function, is it the same as HPD (hot plug detect)?

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

We used ABM8-27.000MHZ-10-1-U-T on our EVM and it has +/-10ppm per its spec.

=> We need SN65DSI86's spec not the EVM material. Are there any detailed specifications in the Datasheet?

I can't find the ANX7625 datasheet to look at cable detect function, is it the same as HPD (hot plug detect)?

=>Function is similar but it also has HPD.

Can we use DSI B output alone by setting register 0x10h? Datasheet default only DSI A.

Unfortunately, I do not have any more spec on the input clock.

DSI86 only has HPD, it does not have a CABLE_DETECT function.

For single channel, only A will be used, you can't use channel B.

    Thanks
