TPS65987D: Wake on GPIO transition

Part Number: TPS65987D

Hello,

Is it possible to wake the TPS65987D from sleep on a GPIO event?

This e2e post says it should be possible, but I can't find anything in the documentation that points to how to do this. Also the datasheet mentions wake on plug event, wake on I2C and wake on PD communication, with no mention of wake on GPIO.

Thank you,

Jon

  • Hi Jon,

No GPIO is not a wake event.

In the post you reference I had combined two ideas into one paragraph. The first sentence was about wake events and the 2nd sentance was about the ability of the Configuration tool to configure GPIO events.

    Regards,
    Scott
  • Hi Scott,

Thanks for clarifying -- sorry for the confusion on my end.

One more question, when TPS65987D is a DFP/source in sleep mode are the CC_lines presented as Rp?

The thought is TPS65987D would be a power bank where it is normally a source, but when nothing is connected the customer would like to enter sleep mode and power down as much as possible in the system to preserve battery life. If a user connects a sink device with a dead battery, and the TPS65987D is not presenting Rp on CC presumably it would be unable to detect an attach event and wake itself up.

    Thank you,
    Jon
