SN65LVDS93A: Can the device support the LVCOMS 1.8V

Hi team,

My customer want to connect the FPGA output directly to the data input of the SN65LVDS93A.

The output of the FPGA is the LVCMOS 1.8V and the match resistor is 50 ohm

And we have indicated that SN65LVDS93A support the LVTTL data.

So I want to know:

1. Does the input support the LVCOMS 1.8V?

2. Do we need the match network between the LVCOMS output of FPGA and LVTTL input of SN65LVDS93A?

Hi Lacey,

Yes, the SN65LVDS93A supports 1.8-V to 3.3-V input voltage selectable by IOVCC supply.

Hi I.K.
The component has VCC and LVDSVCC pins which are recommended to be 3.3V. Do you suggest to change all the VCC pins to 1.8V? I haven't seen specific IOVCC pins...

Hi Shaul,

Please take a look at the Power Supply section of the pinout at the bottom of page 4 of the datasheet. There is IOVCC, LVDSVCC, PLLVCC, and VCC. IOVCC is the one you can change to enable 1.8V inputs. The rest of the supplies need to be 3.3V.

Just to double check.
So if the LVCOMS level can meet the requirement, is there matching network needed between the LVCOMS output of the FPGA and the input pin of our device.
The output resister of FPGA is 50ohm.

Hi Lacey,

There is no matching network required. The FPGA should be connected directly to the 93A.
