DS90UB949-Q1: EDID format

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1

Hello

if customer would like to programming EDID on external EEPROM. Is 256 byte I2C EEPROM ok? Hay any programming guide or EDID format to provide to customer ? They need to know how to modify which byte for resolution change. Thank you.

BR

Patrick

  • Hello,

    Yes 256 bytes is supported.
please refer to this thread for more details.

  • Hello Steven

I still don't know what is EDID data format, ex for which byte we can modify to change resolution ( (12.3 inch, 1920*720, clock freq 20~85Mhz, frame rate=60Hz ) . Could you help provide EDID format that let us know how to change which byte to meet above resolution? Thank you.

sorry, you should ask for help from the video generator side, we also has no this EDID data for different video resolution, our 949 just is one serializer for electrical medium transmission.

    regards,

    Steven

  • Hello

Below is EDID contents. If customer would like change to 12.3 inch, 1920*720, clock freq 20~85Mhz, frame rate=60Hz . How to change which byte to meet ? Customer request change external EEPROM to EDID modify. Thank you.

  • Hello

if customer mount external EEPROM, they would like to read external EERPOM EDID then display panel. So does customer need to switch mode 5 to ON? Thank you.

  • Hello Patrick,

To read external EDID from the EEPROM at the remote display, set the 949 MODE0 = 1. For MODE1, you must set REM_EDID_LOAD = 1 and EXT_CTL = 1 as well, plus set the COAX bit as desired for your system. Please reference the datasheet section 7.4.1

    Best Regards,
    Casey
