Hi David,

Is there DP monitor supporting ASSR?

Is it possible to support DP monitor using register setting for ASSR?

We can't make Test2 high in the HW aspect so we can't make non-ASSR now. (It will take a lot of time to modify our board but we can't wait for it at the moment due to the schedule)

But we don't have eDP panel because at first, we didn't intend to support eDP and just support DP monitor using SN65DSI86.

Please, give us some good idea to get over this bad situation.

I am not aware of any DP monitor that supports ASSR. By default, DSI86 supports ASSR. To disable ASSR, TEST2 pin has to be pulled high.

You mean that I MUST use eDP when I enable ASSR?

And you also mean that I can use DP Monitor only if I disable ASSR?

There is no way to use DP monitor when I enable ASSR. Right?

Majority of DP monitors do not support ASSR, while eDP panel may or may not support the ASSR.

We will make TEST2 pin high somehow.

Is it okay to use "DP to HDMI gender" for HDMI monitor when we use non-ASSR?

Is there something else to do for it?

You need to use an active DP to HDMI protocol converter, not the passive adapter when interfacing to a HDMI monitor.
