Hi team,

My customer is curious on Bob Smith termination of TPS23756EVM. Questions are below:

1. Could you please help to explain why here need two Bob Smith termination on both side?

2. How to decide the value of 75 ohm resistors in right side(R23-R26)?

    Hi Xiaopeng,

    1. The bob smith is required on the power side of the data transformer. For the data side, the ethernet phy will usually show in its datasheet how the center taps on the data side should be terminated.

    2. Please see answer for #1. The phy datasheet will usually have a recommended circuit. Sometimes it's terminated to a voltage rail.
