HD3SS3220: AC coupled capacitor

Part Number: HD3SS3220

Hi support team,

I am designing in UFP mode.

SLLSES1C Page-28 Figure-12.

SSTXP, SSTXN, SSRXP, SSRXN do not have AC coupled capacitors.

Isn't it necessary?

There are two sentences below in Original question, after all it is unnecessary?

"You should not place the AC coupling capacitors on Txp/Txn."

"The AC coupling capacitors of 0.1 uF should be used on the TX pin."

My application is USB Type-C Camera.

The AC coupling capacitors must be placed on one side of the HD3SS3220 to provide the proper bias voltage, and we typically recommend the AC coupling capacitors be placed on the side of HD3SS3220 connected to the connector. So in Figure-12, with the AC coupling capacitors already placed on one side of the HD3SS3220, you then don't need capacitors on the other side.

The only time when you need to place AC coupling capacitors on both side is that if the common mode voltage is higher than 2V.

    Thanks
