Good morning,

I am working with the ds90ub949-q1 serializer board to with my own LVDS board. My connection is like this:

Ubuntu Laptop->ds90ub949-q1->LVDS->External Monitor.

The serializer will not detect my board and therefore will not give the laptop the signal that an HDMI output is connected and the setup fails.

I thought form reading the user's manual that changing the Force Link bit in DUAL_CTL1 might fix this but the problem remains . My DUAL_CTL1 value after the change is 0x21

Is there a way to force output and signal back to the laptop that the serializer is active?

Also, How can I make this permanent (boot into this mode).

Hello Matthew,

Would it be possible to verify the behavior with our 949 EVM firstly? Also how are you configuring the EDID information? (Please see the EDID information in the datasheet for 949 for different modes).

Thank you for your help. We discovered that the orientation of the FP-Link connecting LVDS pins and the ds90ub949 Q1 EVM pins were rotated 180 degrees. After rotating our wire 180 degrees and plugging it into the LVDS we had no problems.
