So... what is needed to terminate an unused non-removable USB output outside of the USB spec if OTP, I2C, SMBus are not used? 

  • Sorry, my initial response was not clear.  There is never any need to physically terminate an unused or non-removable port.  The USB specification does require a hub to report a non-removable port or an unused port, but functionally the hub does not operate differently based on these configurations.
