We used Keysight ADS as our simulator: https://www.keysight.com/en/pc-1297113/advanced-design-system-ads.

Hello David,
Thank you for your support.
Can this S-parameter use for eye-pattern simulation?
Because S-parameter "model_readme.txt" described "This provides model for an average HD3SS3220 ON channel. This can be used for Insertion and Return Loss simulations."
If this can not be used for eye-pattern simulation. Please let me know how to simulate eye-pattern.
Regards,
Ryoji-san
HD3SS3220 s-parameter model is part of the signal integrity simulation. If you need an eye-pattern simulation, you need to have a source model to generate the eye pattern.
Please see this Keysight document on the overview of the signal integrity simulation: https://literature.cdn.keysight.com/litweb/pdf/5990-9111EN.pdf?id=2095655.
Thanks
David
Hello David,
The customer is having trouble getting the output waveform from the IBIS model.
1.He was told he can get the output signal with the S-parameter.
2. The S-parameter “readme” file says it can be used for “Insertion and Return Loss simulations”…will it work for output signal simulation?
3. Does TI recommend board simulation, or recommend how to other simulation ?
4. If you recommend the simulation…how do I get the output waveform?
5.In addition, Should they use which file and model?

Below is a simplified IBIS-model simulation block diagram. The actual simulation model needs to accurately reflect the system design.
TI Provides the HD3SS3220 s-parameter model, but the customer needs to provide TX AMI model, channel model between TX/RX AMI model and HD3SS3220, and RX AMI. The TX AMI is responsible for generating the correct data. The data goes through the channel + HD3SS3220 + channel, recovered by the RX AMI, and the outputs as eye diagram in the Eye Probe function.
Thanks
