Hi,

1. I set it to 100BASE-FX. What are the conditions to establish a link?

2. What are the conditions for re-linking after reset release?

3. Link is established 201.5ms after reset release. Why does it take such a long time?

    Hi,

    For linking up, the host PHY and the link partner need to support the same operational mode. In this case, 100Base-FX. They should be connected with good cable and fiber optic connectors which are rated for 100Base-FX ethernet standard. The PHY's go through several internal process before a valid link is established and there is no max time defined in the IEEE standard for link up. So it would be difficult to quantify the link up time or explain why it takes 201.5ms in this case.
