Hi,

If we do not know the link time from the reset release, we cannot use this PHY in the system. Please tell me the following.The setting is 100BASE-FX.

1. What is the PHY's specific several internal process until PHY link is established?

2. Please let me know a reference value of the link time from the reset release instead of a guaranteed value.

    Hi,

    1. PHY from Power On to Reset:

    a. It has to read the HW Config thru straps to configure it correctly.

    b/ Assuming your use-case is for 100Base-FX, it will check whether Signal Detect has to be used or not.

    c. It will transmit 100Base-FX Signal on Transmitter

    d. Will configure receiver to receive the 100Base-FX signal

    2. 100Base-FX link-up time is relatively fast compare to 100Base-TX. I don't have the values but can be checked on the EVM.
