TLIN1029-Q1: TLIN1029

Part Number: TLIN1029-Q1

Hi,

I purchased TLIN1029 LIN transceiver chip to get data from the door( i.e closed or open)  of the car and for other applications , i have two queries

1. How can we connect LIN pin of chip to vehicle, because OBD connector in vehicle doesn't have LIN pin in it.

2. How to get slave address of ECU's connected via LIN bus, i have gone through specification of LIN protocol didn't get clarity from it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Regards,

Shafi

  • Hi Shafi,

    1. LIN buses are typically more local data lines for remote nodes and therefore are not part of the OBD standard. A LIN bus can be controlled by a Master device which communicates with the vehicles Controller Area Network (CAN). In the case of a door module, the transceiver could be connected to a LIN harness with other local sub-system nodes to be controlled by a single Master than interfaces with the CAN bus.

    2. CAN and LIN standards do not include tasks for the application layer such as addressing. Addressing will be handled by the slave device being used and the master it interacts with. The transceiver only handles the physical layer of the LIN standard.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any questions about the TLIN1029 device.

    Regards,
    Eric
