DS90UB926QSEVB: Cannot Install Drivers

Thanks for already searching on this topic and trying different fixes.

In the driver install / update steps, basically you will go through the following steps

a)  Windows will show 

b) Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" and you will see as below

c) Choose "Let me pick..." option and you should see

You should see "Have Disk..." option in Step (c). Sometime I have noticed this option shows a number of available drivers without showing "Have Disk..." option. To get this option you have to scroll all the way up on the list of available drivers and at the top it shows this option. Once you get that option, then you have to use that and point to the place where you downloaded the nano driver.

Vishy, Thank you for responding.

Finding the driver isn't my issue. It's the fact that Windows doesn't think it applies to my device. Here's is everything I do:

1) Here is the device as shown in my Device Manager as "NSC USB NANO":

2) From there I follow the steps to update the driver. Even though it shows the appropriate device, I still choose "Have Disk..."

3) I find the driver on my PC

4) I select the recommended Driver:

5) I tell it to install even though it isn't signed, but it tells me the Driver isn't intended for this platform:

This is the issue that I'm having.

Thanks. One question: you mention win 10, 64-bit as your system. Then shouldn't you be choosing from Win10 x64 folder? The inf file seems to be in a x86 folder.

I am running a 64-bit system good catch. However, I've tried the 64 bit driver and get the same result.

I've also tried the x86 and 64-bit versions for windows 7-10, and every result has the same "Driver is not intended for this Platform" message.

I am not sure why you are seeing the failure.

Are you connecting to a base or a hub? If so, can you try on a direct usb port?

Do you have any other Cypress device installed? Wondering if there's some other conflict causing this.

Is it possible to try on another system?

Could you please upload picture of your EVMs?

Instead of UB926EVM, can you try with UB925EVM and see if you are able to install the driver successfully

Also, don't connect both EVMs to your PC. Connect just 925 and try the install.

Also, in your "device manager --> other devices" screen shot I see a "Unknown device". Curious what's causing that? Can you remove that device while experimenting this?

I've already tried all of these same steps on both my 926 EVM and 925 EVM and I get the same issue. I only have ever had one plugged in at a time, directly into my laptop.

The other "Unknown Device" seems to be coming from my docking station. However, I undocked my laptop and I still get the same driver issue when reattempting to install.

Is your laptop running Windows 10 Pro?

I found the file that is referenced in the link. I don't know enough windows drivers to parse it. Is there something specific you'd like me to look for?

I was wondering in your system also somehow the 32bit sys file is getting selected over 64bit version

Good find, that seems like a pretty promising lead.

Is there anyway to confirm through the driver logs that this is my issue? Installing 3rd party software to alter drivers isn't a decision to be made lightly.

Sorry I don't know about the driver logs. You have to search about it.

I installed and checked with Driver Store Explorer (v0.10.54) given in that thread. Running it shows a list of driver files as part of local machine. I have highlighted below the USB controller drivers I see for my laptop

Rightly, I have two cysusb3.inf files (one for Cypress FX3) and the other for 925/926/927 EVMs. I right click and opened the driver store folder and copied the inf and sys files to a desktop folder. Then compared it against nano driver and confirmed the sys file matches the 64bit version and not the 32bit.
