DS90UB936-Q1: Default register table for working with 640x480 RAW12 MIPI

Part Number: DS90UB936-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB935-Q1, , DS90UB953-Q1

Dear guys,

I am working on a bringing up issue with the custom board using the  DS90UB936-Q1 and DS90UB935-Q1 pair.

Could some expert forum user give me a default register setting for my reference, please?!

Or else, an example for DS90UB953-Q1 would do.

I would be deeply thankful.

Thank you!

  • Hello David,

default register tables for these devices are available in the datasheets.

Anything else can I help you?

  • Hi Hamzeh,

    Firstly, I appreciate your answer!

Secondly, let me clear it out a little bit.

Currently, I have been trying to link up the pair. I could talk to the camera sensor's I2C from the SoC side connected to the De-serializer, pattern generators on both sides seem working, etc. My issue is that after several reads and writes (<100 times). The I2C bus just hang up. Every time, I have to reset the Deserialer (Using its PWD pin) to make the I2C work again. I have enabled the BCC I2C bus watchdog but the issue is still there.

(Both SoC and Serializer use 100kHz I2C bus speed at the moment. And this SoC has been used flawlessly with other Ser-Des pairs (not MIPI) in many other boards that I have worked with)

I would appreciate it if someone could give me a working sample of the chip's register setting (not default, sorry for my misleading) that at least have the I2C working.

I have several other non-MIPI Ser-Des boards and the settings are so simple and straight forward to make the I2C control channel to work. But this Ser-Des pair seems to  have something different.

    Thank you for your time.

    Cheers!

  • Update:

Today I connected a 24MHz external clock source to the Deserializer and the HW work flawlessly.

My question is : How to use the Deserialzer without an external clock source, please?!

    Thank you.

  • Hello David,

you need an external clock source to operate the Deserializer in the right way.

  • Dear Hamzeh,

Thank you a lot for your replies.

    Cheers,

    David
