DS90UB940-Q1: Rin0 and Rin1 reverse

Part Number: DS90UB940-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer use 941+940.

They reverse the connect.... RIN0 is connected to RIN1,and RIN1 is connected to RIN0..

But now the video can display normally.

Is there hidden trouble if using the wrong connection?

Can we change it through register configure?

Thanks!

  • Hi Amelie,

From the description above, it appears the RIN0+, RIN0- board connections are tied to RIN1+, RIN1- on the device and RIN1+, RIN1- board connections are tied to RIN0+,RIN0- on the device.  If this is true, simply swapping the cables at one interface would require no change.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler

  • Sorry. may be I have mistake on my description

    There are two condiction:

    1) Dout1 to Rin0, Dout0 to Rin1:Can we change it through register configure?

    2) Dout1+ to Rin1-, Dout1- to Rin1+: Does it matter? Can we change it through register configure?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Amelie,

Thank you for the updated diagram.  The response above is still suitable for case (1), assuming the ports are used independently.  If the ports are used for odd / even processing, you would need to test the system as it is not offered as a feature in the datasheet.  Please use like ports for like ports as shown in the diagram above (without the red arrows).

For case (2), please refer to the datasheet for respective parts searching for the term 'polarity'.  Some of these devices do offer the ability to change the polarity of some pins, but FPD link RX/TX ports are not listed in the datasheets reviewed.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
