TIC12400-Q1: How do you calculate the current consumption for this device?

Part Number: TIC12400-Q1

e2e,

I would like to ask you if you could provide me with device’s average current consumption in the following specific state ?

    • Vs: 9V, 13.5V and 16V

    • VDD: 5V

    • 12 active inputs all configured as current sources. (the rest are disabled)

    • Polling mode:
  • 2mA wetting current

  • Polling time: 48ms

  • Polling duration: 128µs

    • Active SPI communication.

I have done some calculations from my side that you can find in the attached excel file. Do you think it’s coherent with what I need ?

MSDI current calculation for e2e.xlsx

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

    I reviewed the excel calculation.

You mention 2mA wetting current setting - the highlighted green current values are for 2 mA setting ; the rest are for 10mA. If you are using multiple weeting current settings, and they are following the datasheet specs, then its fine.

Polling time ( tPOLL) at the top of your excel shows 64mA and the formula for total Polling current is also using this value whereas you have specified 48mA in  the comments and in the e2e details above.

Other than that, the calculations look ok.

    Regards,

    Saminah
