TPS65987D: TPS65987D Firmware Problem

Part Number: TPS65987D

Now the company is doing a Typec products, need to use TPS65987D the chip, and debugging for several days, can use i2c communication, there is no integrated spi flash board I see manual need to burn the firmware firmware, I through application customization tool generates a configuration of c language array by PTCs PTCd these commands into the firmware, but PTCc prompt errorI want to ask whether patch is necessary to be used, and what are the initialization steps? Can you provide demo?

  • Hello,

Are you asking for programming the TPS65987D using an EC, since you don't have SPI FLASH? If so you can take a look at the SPI Less Host Programming Over I2C Application Note here:

For the Application Customization GUI tool, yes if you click binary, and then save binary, you will see different options for saving your configurations.

    Thank you,

    Hari

  • Hello Hari:

I have read the document you said, and now I can import the patch into the chip normally through the command, but when I execute the PTCc command, I get 0x00004200. See that the manual says that the version is incorrect. The version is on the screenshot I uploaded, please help me to see how to adjust this version number.
    Thank you.

  • Hello,

I am unsure what the reason for your error could be. The version that you have 6.1.1 is the most recent GUI update so that shouldn't be a problem. When you try to program the patch file are you saving the binary with your configurations first? Also, could you attach your project file to this thread as well?

    Thank you,

    Hari
