DS90UB954-Q1: Mode/IDX resistor using E24 series resistors

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

hello, Is it OK to use E24 1% series resistors instead of recommended value in datasheet?  In this case exactly same value cannot be chosen.

If this is not recommended, is it OK to create same value resistance by using multiple E24 1% resistors in series?

  • Hello Ito-san,

It is recommended only to use the E96 1% resistances from the datasheet in order to ensure that the voltage selection will be reliable across all tolerances of the IC, resistor, and temperature. I would not recommend using E24 resistors or multiple E24 resistors (which means compounding tolerances) in order to generate the value.

  • Hi Casey,

In the "Figure 43. Typical Connection Diagram Coaxial With Internal 1.1-V LDO in datasheet,  there are capacitors at IDx and MODE. can you tell me what is purpose of these caps?

  • Hello Ito-san,

These are used to filter out AC noise on the pins due to EMI or other coupling sources in order to ensure that the voltage at the pin is stable and matching the target voltage.
