Hello,

I would like make a connection between 10/100Mbps (EMAC) of an hercules with a 1000Base-X or 1000Base-TX ethernet phy interface. How could it be done with DP83869HM IC?

Is it possible to use another PHY converter IC to make 10/100Mbps MAC to 1000Base-TX conversion?

I would appreciate for any other solutions?

Hello,

You can use the DP83869 to connect to a MAC interface at any connection rate, 10/100/1000Mbps, using xMII interface. However you will not be able to operate the Ethernet link at 1000Mpbs and the MAC interface at 10 or 100Mbps simultaneously.

As I understand if MAC operates at 1000Mbps then I will be able to run at full speed right? Is there any Hercules MCU supporting 1000Mbps?

Hi,

You are correct, however there are no Hercules MCU supporting 1000Mbps Ethernet.
