Hi,
My customer would like to know below connection between DP83867 and RJ45 terminal.
DP83867 PIN | RJ45 |
TD_P_A |
6 |
TD_M_A |
3 |
TD_P_B |
2 |
TD_M_B |
1 |
TD_P_C |
8 |
TD_M_C |
7 |
TD_P_D |
5 |
TD_P_D |
4 |
Is it possible to connect above connection?
The connection between EtherPHY and RJ45 Usually connect as below,:
However, DP83867 EVM connection are below:
In EVM, the order of PIN number of RJ45 is opposite from normal connection. For example, PIN 1 of RJ45 connects to TD_D_N but the PIN1 connect to TD_P_A. It looks like DP83867 can automatically detect and connect for both case, then, customer would like to know if the device can automatically detect and connect his own connection.
Regards,
Nagata.
Hi Nagata,
The reason on the EVM it is backwards is because it is actually enabled for Mirror mode. You can review more about the settings in our datasheet but that is why we were able to change the polarity.
Thanks,
Cecilia
Cecilia,
Thank you for your support.
The 1-pin of RJ45 usually connect to TD_P_A (positive input) but the 1-pin connect to TD_M_D(negative input) in EVM.
Will DP83867 judges the polarity (positive input or negative input) by WIRE_CROSS bit?
Regards,
Nagata.
That is correct. That bit will let you know the polarity of your signals and whether or not they are reversed.
Thanks,
Cecilia
Cecilia,
Does the WIRE_CROSS bit work for only 1000Mbps? Does it work for 10/100Mbps?
Regards,
Nagata.
Nagata,
Based on the datasheet it states it is only used in 1000M .
Thanks,
Cecilia
Cecillia,
Datasheet shows the bit support 1000M. But I would like to know if the feature can support 10/100, too. I guess the check polarity should be same as 1000M and 10/100M. Could you please check if it work in 10/100M with EVM or degisn?
Regards,
Nagata.
Nagata
Bit 1 - Polarity Status should provide you with this information for those speeds.
Thanks,
Cecilia
