DP83867E: :

Part Number: DP83867E

Hi,

I am trying to figure out the power budget for DP83867E. I found a document(snla241) from TI gives some idea but not covers my scenario.

I have a big FPGA so I may have thermal issues.

I would like to know typical and maximum power dissipation for both RGMII and SGMII interfaces at 85 degrees with both 2 supply and 3 supply mode with 25% and 50% channel utilization.

I am asking this specific question because I will have 25 of these Phys on my board.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best Regards,

Onur

  • Hello Onur,

We may not have the data that you asked for but let me check the closest that I can get for you. You are using 1Gbps mode, correct?

  • Correct,

As close as possible will also work.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    thank you for your reply,

what is the junction temp? According to my thermal analysis, I will have 85 degrees Celcius junction temp at most since I have 21 Phys next to eachother this info is crucial for me.

Is it both for RGMII and SGMII interfaces?

Thank you for your help in advance!

  • And these are all 1Gbps like I mentioned in my previous posts?

  • Hi Onur,

Yes the approximate numbers were for Rgmii, 1Gbps,85C.

For Sgmii, 1Gbps, 85C power will be ~520mW and numbers will remain similar for 50%/25% utilization.

  • Good morning,

In 3 supply mode you have the current rates for 2.5V  1V voltages and also for IO voltage but I dont see the third supply(1V8) current rates.

Please provide it also for 85 C junction 50% utilization at 1Gbps for RGMII interface

  • Hi Onur,

Sorry that was the copy paste issue. Repasting the table with all columns again for rgmii mode, 85C, 1gbps :

  • In SGMII  520mW is for 2 supply or 3 supply?

  • Hi Onur,

    For Sgmii, 1Gbps, 3 supply mode : ~520mW and for 2 supply mode : ~ 550mW (similar for both 25% and 50% utilization).
