SN65LVPE512: SN65LVPE512 application question:USB3.0 can not been identified

Part Number: SN65LVPE512

Hi team,

SN65LVPE512 is been used in our design  to optimize USB3.0 signal ,However, USB3.0  port can not been identified,Please help check  the reference attachment of the schematic and

look forward to your reply。

thanks a lot。USB__Sch.pdf

  • Hi,

Looking at the schematic, please replace R210 and R211 with 0.1uF capacitors.

I don't have the datasheet for the RTS5450, so I am not sure if it is a passive or an active Type-C MUX. If it is a passive MUX, then you need to replace C169 and C256 with 0 ohm resistor. If it is an active Type-C MUX, then you need to keep C169/C256 and replace R69 and R71 with 0.1uF capacitors.

    Thanks

    David

  • It's still not work either replace resistor or capacitor. We have verified the redriver in our previous designe with a external board throught FPC cable, the USB trace seems to be longer than the present one,It's works well and the eye diagram test passed。so it's puzzling  me even if the USB signal quality maybe worse it will be  identitied。RTS5450'datasheet as the reference attachment .looking forward more reply。RTS5450M_Type-C_Power_Delivery_Controller_v0.92.pdf

  • Hi,

The datasheet is not clear on the AC coupling caps placement. For AC coupling caps placement, we need to refer to the reference design.

Can you please confirm that you have

    Replaced R210 and R211 with 0.1uF capacitors.

    Keep C169/C256

    Replaced R69 and R71 with 0.1uF capacitors

    Replaced C142, C144, C145, C146 with 0.22uF.

If you probe both sides of the RTS5450, are you able to see the LFPS signal (~20MHz) being sent out by the host and the device?

    Thanks

    David
